Trisha Purdon is the Executive Director of the Montgomery County Action Council. She has worked in economic development in Montgomery County for more than five years, previously with MCAC from 2012-2014 and with the City of Coffeyville as its Assistant City Manager for Economic Development from 2014-2017.
Trisha has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Kansas School of Public Administration and Local Government Management and a Bachelors in Social Welfare with a focus on public policy and community outreach. She is a mom of two small and very active boys, and wife to Joe Purdon (Environmental Engineer at Powerflame, Inc. in Parsons).
Since moving to Montgomery County, she has worked with several companies in the region to bring new jobs to our communities, including the expansion of Acme foundry in 2016; the relocation of Loren Cook Company, MJD Products and Ranew's to Coffeyville Industrial Park; new retail stores featuring Shoe Sensation, Dollar Tree, and the new and improved Dollar General store in Coffeyville.
Her experience working with existing and potential businesses from small entrepreneurs to national retail chains to manufacturers will prove to be an asset for any business looking to start or grow in Montgomery County. Paula has been with MCAC since 2014. She is a native of Montgomery County and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. She has an extensive career background that includes banking, legal, hospitality, energy, long-term care, and now economic development.
She holds a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications (Public Relations option) from Kansas State University as well as an Associate Degree in Naturopathy (ADN), Naturopathic Practitioner (NP) diploma and Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) degree from New Eden School of Natural Health and Herbal Studies. Paula received her paralegal studies certificate from Coffeyville Community College. She is currently working on her certification as an aromatherapist.
Paula is a farm girl at heart and enjoys raising Braunvieh cattle, making a home for a variety of farm animals and caring for the land. Starting in high school until her father closed his automotive repair shop in 1993, she could often be found tearing down and rebuilding motors, repairing radiators, and running errands.
