Explore Montgomery County Through Its Fun Spring Events!
13 Mar 2026
There’s plenty to do in Montgomery County, Kansas, throughout the year, from exploring its race tracks to visiting local zoos. However, March is a particularly fun time in the region, with each town celebrating Spring with events, festivals, and other activities.
“One of the benefits of living in a rural community is you get to spend more time with your friends and neighbors,” says Melissa Johnson, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Action Council (MCAC). “Whenever you leave the house, you can meet people with similar interests and enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.”
Grab your calendar and make plans to explore Montgomery County this Spring. Learn about the different communities and find your home here. We can’t wait to welcome you.
Independence St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
One of the best ways to explore Downtown Independence and make new friends is to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 14, from 6 PM to 10 PM. This event is put on by Independence Main Street to celebrate local businesses while embracing the Luck of the Irish.
Pub crawl locations include:
- Uncle Jack's Bar & Grill
- Turbos Sports Bar and Grill
- VFW Post 1186
- Sporting Heritage Center
Attendees can pick up $5 Pub Crawl Passports before the event and t-shirts in a variety of sizes and styles. There will also be a prize drawing during the pub crawl at the Turbos Sports Bar and Grill stop.
This pub crawl allows visitors and locals alike to explore local bars and restaurants they might not have tried. After the event, they can return to further explore the menus and enjoy refreshing drink specials.
Coffeyville Karaoke and Trivia Nights
The residents of Coffeyville can work their vocal cords during karaoke nights or test their knowledge over trivia. Follow the Coffeyville VFW Post 1022 for updates on karaoke and Cedar Bluff Camp for monthly BINGO. It’s okay if you don’t have a trivia team! Many Coffeyville participants are welcoming and happy to let you join theirs.
Baggers Bar & Grill is another hot spot for events in Coffeyville. It's known for its car shows, which often raise money for good causes. Baggers also offers drink and food specials year-round.
If you are looking for family-friendly activities, check out the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce's calendar of events. They frequently post free or affordable events for kids across the community. For example, kids get in free at the Dalton Defenders Museum on March 17. There are also plenty of kid-centric events at the library.
Cherryvale Invites You to Its Cherry Blossom Festival
Cherryvale offers some of the most picturesque spots in Montgomery to celebrate Spring. Notably, the Cherry Blossom Festival, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, runs during the first weekend of May and features vendors, music, and family-friendly activities. Cherryvale is also known for its parks, so you can get outside and watch the world bloom around you.
If you’re making evening plans, stop by My Place, a popular bar and restaurant with karaoke, pool tournaments, and other theme nights.
