SBDC April Highlight: MPAC Aviation Services

Founded in 2018, MPAC Aviation Services is a locally owned aviation business based in Independence, Kansas, specializing in engine accessory overhaul management for turbine aircraft. Serving customers across the aviation industry—including corporate, agricultural, public-use, and military sectors—MPAC helps clients navigate the complex and costly process of maintaining critical engine components.

As the business grew, MPAC reached out to the Kansas Small Business Development Center for support in strengthening internal capacity and handling increasing workloads. Like many expanding small businesses, they were looking for ways to better manage operations and keep up with demand.

What stood out most in their experience was the accessibility and consistency of support. Having an advisor readily available to answer questions and provide guidance made a meaningful difference as they worked through challenges and continued to grow.

Through their work with the SBDC, MPAC Aviation Services has continued moving forward with greater clarity and improved ability to manage day-to-day operations—allowing them to stay focused on delivering high-value, cost-effective aviation solutions to their customers.

When asked what advice they would give to other entrepreneurs, their response emphasized staying grounded and prepared:
 “Plan ahead, set your priorities, and don’t get ahead of yourself. Things may seem small when you’re starting your business, but they will get bigger as you grow.”
