News
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development recently announced nearly $25 billion in rural community investments nationwide in fiscal year 2026. These projects strengthen essential infrastructure, expand housing and business opportunities, and ensure rural families and farmers have the tools they need to succeed.
In West Virginia, Rural Development invested more than $265.9 million in loans and grants in fiscal year 2026 to support these efforts.
“Rural Development’s work this year reflects our commitment to West Virginia’s future.” said State Director, John Reisenweber. “Over the past year, we have delivered critical investments that are improving the daily lives of residents throughout the state. From upgraded water systems to expanded broadband and affordable housing, these projects strengthen our communities and create opportunities for people who call West Virginia home.”
