Shop Local in Montgomery County This Summer at These Independent Retailers
July 10, 2025
July is Independent Retailer Month, where we celebrate the local businesses that provide quality products and services to Montgomery County. For every dollar spent at a local business, $0.67 stays in the community. Small businesses also employ 58.9 million Americans, comprising 47.5% of the workforce.
“Every day is a great day to buy from a local business,” says Melissa Johnson, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Action Council (MCAC). “But it’s fun to spend July recognizing some of our local retailers and showcasing our diverse industries.”
Here are a few companies thriving in Montgomery County and making a difference to their customers. Enjoy our Midsummer Shop Small Celebration with these independent retailers.

“While we are proud to be rooted in a small town, there is nothing small about the services we provide,” he says. “In fact, we routinely offer care and programs that chain competitors often overlook.”
Duley also loves his town and is happy to serve residents there. “Caney is filled with people who genuinely care about their community and are committed to making it stronger,” he says. “Being part of that spirit and providing access to quality pharmacy services in a place we truly believe in, is what makes doing business here so meaningful.”
